About The Position

Performs maintenance, diagnosis and repair of equipment, physical systems and structures within assigned facilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience and/or training equivalent to journeyman standing in appropriate trade required.
  • Three (3) years experience in the electrical/mechanical field of healthcare or industrial engineering required.
  • Successful completion of Drivers Privileges for SHS Vehicles application process required.
  • Knowledge of and ability to comply with federal, state, local rules and standards.
  • Ability to safely and effectively use electrical and mechanical shop tools and test equipment.
  • Knowledge of methods and techniques used in electrical, mechanical and building maintenance.
  • Ability to use a wide variety of test equipment and hand / power tools including cable testing equipment.
  • Knowledge and skills in one or more of the following trades: mechanical, welding, pneumatics, refrigeration, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing or steam fitting.
  • Ability to read and understand blue prints and facility schematics and utilize computer interfacing concepts including communications and components.
  • Knowledge and ability to trouble shoot and repair various physical plant systems and equipment.
  • Ability to work with outside contractor to coordinate systems shutdowns and equipment repairs or services.
  • Ability to perform staff in-services education on various systems and equipment related to the physical plant.
