The Maintenance Electrician at Shasta College is responsible for performing maintenance, repair, alteration, and installation of electrical equipment in District buildings and facilities. This role requires a journey-level classification of technical knowledge and skill in the methods, procedures, materials, and equipment used in skilled electrician work. The Maintenance Electrician will work under general supervision and may oversee the work outcomes of others to accomplish projects. The position involves a variety of tasks including the installation, operation, service, repair, adjustment, testing, and maintenance of the District's electrical systems. This includes high and low voltage light and power systems, fire alarms, and motor-driven equipment. The role also encompasses the maintenance and testing of alternative energy devices such as generators and photovoltaic systems.
