The main duties of the Electrician are to ensure that all electrical schematics are current, troubleshooting during unscheduled equipment downtime, repairs and complete preventive maintenance service. Maintain plant power distribution system. Equipment installations and plant electrical support.

Requirements

  • Licensed Journeyman Electrician with 5-7 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Understanding of Industrial equipment mechanics
  • Forklifting driving and scissor lift work platform use
  • Electrical troubleshooting of industrial equipment, facility wiring and lighting fixtures
  • Troubleshooting of PLCs and VFDs
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and manuals
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Knowledge of Internet software
  • Read and interpret electrical prints, layout, sizing and installation of conduit, wireways, cable trays, lighting control systems, machine controls, power distribution and troubleshooting

  • Machining and fabrication skills
  • Ability to maintain multi-trades (hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and troubleshoot plant equipment
  • Install and maintain all safety features as required on all machinery and equipment
  • Follow safety procedures and adhere to electrical codes
  • Correctly interpret technical documents for proper execution of assignments
  • Read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, and equipment specifications
  • Maintain, repair, and replace parts as needed
  • Maintain all records of all PM tasks
  • Knowledge in Arc Flash
  • Knowledge in LOTO
  • Knowledge in one line diagram control
  • Maintain power distribution equipment for entire plant
