Day to day as a Maintenance Electrician As a new Maintenance Electrician at Berks Packing Co., Inc., you will be expected to perform essential tasks that ensure the smooth operation of our facility. Daily responsibilities include conducting routine maintenance checks on electrical systems and equipment, diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical issues, and performing repairs promptly. You will collaborate with production teams to identify equipment needs and ensure uptime, while also documenting maintenance activities in compliance with safety and quality standards. Regularly, you'll participate in training sessions to stay updated on industry best practices and new technologies. Additionally, maintaining a clean and organized workspace and adhering to safety protocols will be key expectations. This role requires you to actively communicate with fellow team members and management to foster a cooperative work environment, ensuring that our commitment to excellence is consistently met.

Requirements

  • Technical School certificate (NJACT) for Electrical.
  • 5-7 years of related experience, preferably in the meat industry.
  • Or any other equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience with USDA, OSHA, and GMP.
  • Knowledge of and experience of preventive electrical maintenance.
  • Strong electrical knowledge and problem-solving abilities
  • A solid understanding of electrical wiring, motor controls, and circuitry is crucial for conducting repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Attention to detail is necessary to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational excellence.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are vital for collaborating effectively with team members and other departments, fostering a cooperative work environment.
  • The ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently will help you maintain productivity in a fast-paced setting.
  • Finally, a commitment to safety and an innovative mindset will empower you to contribute to the continuous improvement of our operations while upholding our core values.

Nice To Haves

  • Journey Electrician's License preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office and Maintenance Management Software, preferably AMMS.
  • Familiarity with ERP.
  • Knowledge of tools and equipment related to the meat industry and general facility maintenance.
  • Knowledge of electrical testing instruments.
