About The Position

MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician with an unrestricted/unlimited Journeyman Electrician license and strong high-voltage and industrial electrical experience within a water or wastewater treatment environment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and continuous operation of treatment facilities, pump stations, lift stations, and process equipment.The ideal candidate brings outstanding troubleshooting skills, a strong safety mindset, and hands-on experience working with complex electrical, instrumentation, and control systems used in municipal utility operations.

Requirements

  • Unrestricted/Unlimited Journeyman Electrician License (state-issued).
  • 3+ years of electrical experience in industrial, utility, water, or wastewater environments.
  • Demonstrated experience working with high-voltage systems
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, and electrical safety practices.
  • Experience with MCCs, VFDs, breakers, relays, motor controls, and industrial power distribution.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and plant drawings.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • CMMS experience
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds frequently.
  • Ability to climb ladders, access confined spaces, and work in industrial plant environments.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and respond to after-hours emergencies.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SCADA/PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, GE, etc.).
  • Instrumentation & controls background (I&C, HMI, transmitters, analyzers).
  • Water or wastewater operator certifications (optional but highly valuable).

Responsibilities

  • Electrical Maintenance & Repair Perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems up to 600V+, including MCCs, switchgear, VFDs, transformers, and motor control circuits.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical components on pumps, blowers, aeration systems, chemical feed systems, and other process equipment.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Instrumentation & Controls Maintain and troubleshoot SCADA, PLCs, HMIs, telemetry systems, and process control instrumentation.
  • Calibrate and repair sensors, transmitters, analyzers, and control loops related to flow, pressure, chemical feed, and water quality.
  • Facility & Equipment Support Support electrical work across water/wastewater treatment plants, lift stations, pump stations, and distribution/collection infrastructure.
  • Participate in equipment installations, upgrades, and commissioning activities.
  • Safety & Compliance Follow all OSHA, NFPA 70E, lockout/tagout, confined space, and facility safety practices.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance documentation in CMMS systems.
  • Ensure adherence to electrical codes, utility standards, and site SOPs.
  • Team Collaboration Work closely with operators, mechanics, and SCADA/controls specialists to resolve operational issues.
  • Provide input on equipment condition, asset reliability, and improvement initiatives.
