About The Position

The General Maintenance Electrician is responsible for the install, replacement, repair, and calibration of all electrical instruments and control devices at our onsite facility, which supports various user groups for a variety of life support, air-to-air refueling, and personal survival equipment systems In this function you will: Install, replace, repair, and calibrate all electrical instruments and control devices, including motors, instrument panels, control boards, and electrical/electronic equipment. Measure, cut, bend, and assemble cable, conduit, and wire, pulling wires and cables through conduits, etc. Fasten into position such equipment as panel boxes, outlet boxes, switch boxes, and fixtures Install, repair, and replace heating elements and thermocouples in furnaces. Inspect, repair, and service a variety of laboratory equipment and generators Work from blueprints, sketches, wire diagrams, and machine specifications, but may also be called upon to devise your own methods to solve instrument and control problems. Perform trouble shooting operations on a wide variety of equipment, using various instruments including potentiometers, voltmeters, ammeters, oscilliscopes, portable and optical pyroraters Maintain an organized stock of spare parts and accessories needed for various repair and service functions. Provide input concerning which parts or equipment might be used to eliminate problems.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. from an accredited institution is required
  • Experience with industrial voltages up to and including 480 volt three phase power.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 70 miles of Davenport, IA to be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in a variety of maintenance and troubleshooting situations.
  • Must be skilled in the use of various tools, gages, instruments, and test equipment necessary for performance of job duties.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of electronic circuits, automatic controls, switches, condensers, fuses, etc.
  • Must be able to follow both oral and written instructions
  • Must be able to work with limited supervision
