About The Position

Located in North America's wind belt, Davenport proudly stands at the forefront of renewable electricity technology. Our factory works to do our part to care for the environment, like investing in renewable electricity, conserving water and maintaining zero waste for disposal. Since 1927, it has been home to one of our largest manufacturing facilities. Originally focused on cereal production, the factory transitioned to become a pet food-only manufacturer in the late '90s. Today, it holds the distinction of being the largest pet food manufacturing facility in the U.S. With utmost care, our dedicated team in Davenport produces, packages, and ships a wide range of our beloved brands including Dog Chow®, Puppy Chow®, Alpo®, Beneful®, Purina ONE®, Cat Chow®, Friskies®, and Kit N Kaboodle®. As a Maintenance Electrician, you're responsible for the preventative electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all electrical equipment in the factory. You’ll follow plant sanitation practices and procedures while staying informed of new technology and equipment as it pertains to plant operations. Always working in a safe manner, you’ll play a major role in machine reliability and process improvements as you work collaboratively across the plant. Our maintenance work includes both predictive and preventative maintenance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2+ years’ industrial electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, military, or related environment
  • MUST BE OPEN TO ALL SHIFTS.

Responsibilities

  • Properly use maintenance equipment including hand tools, lifts, threaders, benders, drills and welding equipment.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain switch gears, control wiring and components, overcurrent and overload protection for plant motors including three phase systems.
  • Design, program and troubleshoot plant PLCs, VFDs, input/output devices and associated equipment.
  • Read, update, and create electrical prints and documentation.
  • Properly install conduit, raceways, fittings, etc.
  • Use test equipment such as multimeters, megohmmeters, and process simulators.
  • Troubleshoot and repair both mechanical and electrical equipment.
