Maintenance Electrician Helper Assist electrician in the assembly, installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. Assist in the diagnosis of malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and assist in correcting the problem. This is accomplished by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States. Austin is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.
  • Education – High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification/License : TDLR, TWIC Card Required and Valid State ID or Driver's License.
  • Experience – 4 years' experience in the Industrial maintenance role, or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Gathers tools and supplies at the work site according to the instructions of the electrician.
  • Measures, cuts and bends wire and conduit, using a ruler and hand tools.
  • Drills holes for wiring, using power drill and pulls or pushes wiring through opening.
  • Trace out short circuits in wiring, using knowledge of wiring and test meter.
  • Assists in lifting, positioning, or fastening objects such as wiring, conduit, and motors.
  • Performs minor repairs, such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches.
  • May disassemble defective electrical equipment, replace worn or defective parts, and reassemble equipment.
  • Assist senior maintenance technicians in their work.
  • Perform basic tasks such as changing light bulbs, replacing filters, and fixing leaks.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of systems and equipment.
  • Perform cleaning activities such as dusting and sanitizing.
  • Assist in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Report any significant maintenance repairs to supervisor.
  • Assist in moving, arranging, and installing office furniture and equipment.
  • Adherent to safety procedures and protocols
  • Keep a log of maintenance work and repairs.
  • Assist in ordering and maintaining inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
