About The Position

ISC Constructors is seeking a Maintenance Electrician for DOW Deer Park. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and a wide variety of electrical skills to complement our experienced workforce. Responsibilities include performing electrical and PLC troubleshooting, routine preventative maintenance, and corrective repairs of electrical equipment. The position requires the ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, work orders, and blueprints, as well as perform various electrical tasks such as MCC and switchgear work, conduit fabrication and installation, and troubleshooting on energized motor controls.

Requirements

  • Ability to meet the cut score on the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Skill Assessment
  • Ability to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug/alcohol test and applicable background checks
  • Minimum 4 years Maintenance Electrician experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical and PLC troubleshooting and repair of equipment
  • Work independently and pay attention to detail, including accurate data collection and tracking of preventative maintenance information
  • Properly document troubleshooting of events
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and corrective repairs of electrical equipment
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, work orders, and blueprints
  • Perform MCC and switchgear work, including rack in/rack outs
  • Fabricate and install conduit supports
  • Install wire and cable
  • Fabricate and install rigid, aluminum, E.M.T., plasti-bond, and P.V.C. conduit
  • Use mechanical and 2” - 4” hydraulic benders
  • Install wire and cable in cable trays
  • Troubleshoot energized motor controls
  • Fabricate and install breakers, fuses, cable trays, batteries, battery chargers, buss ducts, junction boxes, tagging, term, motors, and transformers
  • Size thermal-overloads, breakers, and fuses
  • Terminate motors, transformers, stress cones, and cable splicing
  • Understand the proper use of hydraulic tools
  • Read blueprints and national electric code requirements
  • Use electrical equipment testers including V.O.M., AMP meter, and 1000-volt insulation tester
  • Understand communication and applicable electrical OSHA rules and regulations
