About The Position

The Maintenance Electrical Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of electronic equipment used in production operations. This role supports plant reliability by performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing equipment issues, and completing timely repairs to minimize downtime. Equipment serviced may include scales, metal detectors, printers, microprocessor-controlled applicators, and programmable controllers. The Electronic Technician must be able to read and interpret electrical and electronic schematics, perform system backups on computer equipment, and use specialized diagnostic tools to identify and resolve issues. This position works closely with other departments to support production operations and ensure equipment is operating efficiently and safely. All team members are responsible for maintaining high standards of personal safety and food safety while performing their duties.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in electronic technology or equivalent related experience.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience performing both mechanical and electrical maintenance in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience in repairing scales and electronic equipment.
  • Experience working with Modicon Gould Programmable Controllers and computer room operations is required.
  • Proficient in using electronic diagnostic tools, including a Digital Voltmeter (DVM), analog meter, and oscilloscope, to troubleshoot and repair equipment effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work closely with other departments.
  • Must successfully complete the Electronic Technician Test.
  • Must demonstrate strong work performance and maintain safe work practices.
  • Ability and willingness to stand and walk for 8–10 hours on hard surfaces.
  • Ability to crouch, squat, climb stairs and ladders, and occasionally crawl.
  • Ability to repetitively lift, push, pull, and carry up to 60 pounds individually and more with assistance.
  • Ability to grasp, reach, pinch, and handle objects of various sizes repeatedly.
  • Ability to work in cold, hot, humid, and wet environments typical of a manufacturing facility.
