Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred) – equivalent experience considered.
  • Experience: Proven leadership in facilities or maintenance management with a track record of building strong, collaborative teams.
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, preventative maintenance).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Windows OS, and industry-specific software.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Professional Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and project management abilities.
  • Mindset: Analytical thinker who thrives in fast-paced, problem-solving environments.
  • Leadership: Driven to lead by example, coach and mentor less experienced team members, challenge, yet support maintenance team to deliver exceptional service.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of supervisors and maintenance professionals.
  • Oversee hiring, training, and performance management for maintenance staff.
  • Develop and manage the department budget while controlling costs.
  • Implement preventative maintenance programs to maximize equipment life and reduce downtime.
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA and all regulatory standards.
  • Conduct safety audits, enforce protocols, and encourage open reporting of concerns.
  • Manage vendor and contractor relationships for specialized services.
  • Drive long-term strategies and capital improvement plans.
  • Solve complex operational challenges to keep systems running smoothly.
