The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that maintenance schedules are followed as outlined for respective shifts or areas. This role involves developing and maintaining written maintenance policies and procedures, planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the Maintenance Department, its programs, and activities. The supervisor will coordinate maintenance services and activities with other related departments such as Dietary, Nursing, and Activities. The position assumes administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability for directing the Maintenance Department. The supervisor will assist the Infection Control Coordinator in identifying, evaluating, and classifying routine and job-related maintenance functions to ensure proper identification and recording of tasks involving potential exposure to blood/body fluids. Regular inspections of storage rooms, workrooms, and utility/janitorial closets will be conducted to ensure upkeep and supply control. The supervisor will also participate in facility surveys made by authorized government agencies and develop plans of correction for maintenance deficiencies noted during inspections. Additionally, the supervisor will ensure that services performed by outside vendors are completed and supervised in accordance with contracts/work orders.
