About The Position

The custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean and welcoming school environment for all who enter Holy Cross School building.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of cleaning supplies and use of cleaning equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor.
• Ability to work independently and create dedicated schedule of cleaning throughout the day.
• Willing to work year around as position does not follow school calendar year.
• Must successfully complete a background check and Safe Environment training in line with Diocesan policy.

Nice To Haves

• Prior custodial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• The custodian maintains cleanliness of classrooms, hallways, offices, restrooms, and cafeteria.
• Sweep, mop, and wax floors.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, empty trash throughout building.
• Wash all surfaces as needed.
• Assist with set up and take down of school events.
• Perform light maintenance tasks throughout the school building.
• Demonstrate respect and professionalism at all times.
• Custodian must be reliable, responsible, and have a strong work ethic.
