The Maintenance Controls Technician at Armtec installs, troubleshoots, monitors, corrects, and proposes improvements to equipment electronic control and communication systems that improve equipment uptime and reliability. In addition, the Maintenance Controls Technician performs preventive maintenance along with the Electrician’s on Armtec’s electrical systems. They need to be proficient and able to train other Maintenance Mechanics on equipment AC power distribution systems, as well as DC logic control hardware, HMI’s and programming software, as well as the associated sensors, vision systems, motors, drives, actuators, and industrial communication networks. The Maintenance Controls Technician will work Monday-Thursday 10 hour shifts but must be available as needed to support production needs on all shifts. Our existing control systems at Armtec are primarily based around Allen Bradley logic controllers, however we do have various other systems including Mitsubishi, Siemens, and Beckhoff based systems that we occasionally need to work with. The equipment these systems control are multi-station assembly systems, presses, trimmers, and fluid handling systems that consist of a variety of electro-mechanical, hydraulic, optical, and pneumatic devices. Our products are components in large and medium caliber ammunition products, and contain various levels of energetic materials, so safety is of paramount importance.
