About The Position

The Maintenance Controls Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and optimal performance of our manufacturing equipment and systems. This position involves a combination of technical expertise in control systems, electrical engineering, and maintenance practices within a food manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, required.
  • Technical or Associate Degree, Electrical Journeyman’s License, or certificate in related trades, preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field, is a plus.
  • At least 1 year of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of control systems in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMI development, and SCADA systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, including motors, drives, and industrial sensors.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to electrical and control systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and learn new technologies as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain control systems for various manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, and other automation components.
  • Optimize control strategies to enhance equipment efficiency, reliability, and safety.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks on electrical systems, including motors, drives, sensors, and other electrical components.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to develop and execute maintenance schedules and procedures.
  • Adhere to all relevant safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform regular safety inspections and participate in safety training programs.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to electrical and control systems.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation to improve productivity and reduce costs.
  • Implement upgrades and modifications to existing control systems to enhance performance and reliability.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Document control system configurations, wiring diagrams, and other technical documentation as needed.
  • Flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
