About The Position

This position reports to the Facility Maintenance Supervisor and provides facility maintenance support to a multi-level custody male correctional facility. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Performing preventive and routine corrective maintenance tasks ensuring that assigned systems, equipment, and facilities are maintained in a safe and efficient manner. 2. Requiring to have multiple trade skills to allow the individual to deal with the variety of maintenance tasks that will have to be dealt with on a routine basis at a correctional facility. 3. Performing at the semi-skilled level for various maintenance trades as required. 4. Supervising skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled labor. (including offenders) to assist in completing assigned tasks.

Requirements

  • High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma AND two (2) years of progressive experience in the assigned trade areas (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Mechanics, Construction); or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • May require current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations Part 82, Subpart F.

Nice To Haves

  • Documented working knowledge of commercial/industrial maintenance.

Benefits

  • This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits with established working hours of Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm and may require working beyond normal work schedule to meet business need.
