The primary purpose of this position is to resolve facility maintenance issues in state-owned buildings that are overseen by the Facilities Management Division. He works under the direction of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor. He must have an excellent knowledge of building codes in his area of responsibility and perform at the journey level in at least two trades (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, masonry, or plastering). This position may also be required to work at another facility as directed by the Supervisor or lead mechanic, unscheduled overtime may be required during building emergencies, and employee is subject to be called in to assist with building emergencies after hours, weekends, and holidays. Employee is expected to be present at work during inclement weather conditions.
