About The Position

Reporting to Maintenance Construction Supervisor II the primary purpose of this position is to provide grounds maintenance and assist with routine, preventive and corrective maintenance tasks and repair within an Adult Correctional Facility. Job responsibilities include the following: - Ensuring that assigned property, systems, and buildings are maintained in a safe and efficient manner. - Performing grounds maintenance and small engine repair. - Working knowledge of herbicides and pesticides. - Assisting with repair tasks that require experience in general building trades such as carpentry, cabinet making, roofing, or painting. - Supervising the work of semi-skilled and unskilled labor to assist them in completing assigned tasks and provide support to other staff members performing trade skills during preventive maintenance or other duties assigned by the supervisor as deemed necessary.

Requirements

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one (1) year of progressive experience in the assigned trade areas Or An equivalent combination of education and experience.
May require current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations Part 82, Subpart F.

Working knowledge of the methods, practices, tools, and/or materials used in the general maintenance and/or repair of buildings, equipment, and/or machinery.
