Taylor Machine Works, Inc. is a subsidiary of the Taylor Group of Companies, a third-generation family-owned business based in Louisville, MS since 1927. The Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Construction Manager. Duties/Responsibilities: Provide maintenance service to all Taylor Non-Bargaining Facilities and all other Taylor owned properties, when needed. Under general supervision, maintain, repair, and install electrical systems, services, and equipment for Taylor Group Non-Bargaining Unit Facilities to include all Taylor owned properties. Maintain and provide for the safe condition and operation of all electrical fixtures and systems in Taylor Non-Bargaining facilities. Serving as advisor/consultant to maintenance department personnel to resolve problems associated with the repair of other production equipment used throughout the Taylor organization. In the absence of the Manager, this person would assume these responsibilities of assigning priorities and scheduling work, manpower and other daily responsibilities normally handled by the Construction Manager. Routinely locate and order parts for inventory to prevent long lead times. They’d also seek out resources other than the manufacturer for comparative costs and delivery times. Consulted when a new piece of equipment is under consideration for purchase. Some travel may be expected, i.e., to attend factory-sponsored schools to learn to properly service and maintain each new piece of equipment purchased. Repairs or replaces electrical controls and motors on all types of machinery and equipment. In the event such equipment is in outlying locations, travel to each plant or property and provides the same services as for the home plant. Receive and complete work orders. Maintain inventory of company-owned tools, equipment, and materials. Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean. Work with other maintenance employees completing building projects. Respond to emergency calls as needed. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately. Supervisor may assign other duties and accountabilities limited to those consistent with the applicable job function and pay grade. Any other responsibilities assigned by management.
