About The Position

The Maintenance/Construction Supervisor I is responsible for the oversight of the WorkSource West Facility in Morganton. This includes the transportation fleet, safety program, purchasing, equipment storage, distribution and disposal of equipment for the Western Region, and the recycling program for both WorkSource West and the Morganton VR Unit Office and submitting reports as required. This position is also responsible for collaborating with state agencies, local building contractors, inspectors, vendors and others to ensure building and staff safety, and for the security of the premises both during and after business hours by working closely with Broughton Hospital security.

Requirements

  • High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and three (3) years of progressive experience in facility maintenance or construction including journey level experience in at least three (3) building or mechanical trades; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Driver's license required for travel required to perform job requirements
  • May require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by 40 CFR part 82, subpart F.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of repair, maintenance, tools and equipment used in and building repairs and construction
  • Knowledge of state and federal rules on building codes, repairs and construction of facilities
  • Experience working collaboratively, establishing and maintaining effective working relations with multiple stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of designing and facilitating training
