About The Position

The Maintenance position at Thorn Creek Basin Sanitary District is responsible for maintaining and repairing all equipment and buildings within the District's jurisdiction. This role requires a high level of skill in various craft areas, including welding, plumbing, and mechanical work, and involves troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment malfunctions. The position is critical for ensuring the operational integrity of the treatment plant and requires readiness to respond to emergencies at any time.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5 years of combined work experience in carpentry, heating & cooling, plumbing/pipefitting, electrical/electronics, mechanical, and welding
• Journeyman level or above average skill in welding, mechanical, and plumbing/pipefitting
• High mechanical aptitude
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to take orders and work well with others
• 20/40 corrected vision required

Responsibilities

• Investigate, test, troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions
• Rebuild or replace pumps, motors and valves
• Service and repair vehicles and portable equipment
• Service and repair electronic equipment
• Repair buildings and maintain grounds
• Repair or replace piping and valves
• Maintain and clean tools necessary for proper maintenance in an operating and orderly fashion
• Painting or cleaning as assigned
