Position Description: The Assistant Maintenance Engineer supports the general maintenance of the hotel including mechanicals, electrical, plumbing, exterior and interior finishing, and information systems. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Seek opportunities to exceed guest and team member’s expectations. Helps to maintain an efficient physical plant preventive maintenance schedule for the following times: daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly. Helps to maintain an efficient electronic and hardcopy filing system for the preventive maintenance tasks. Helps to maintain an efficient schedule for routine city, state, and federal inspections, and maintain a file system for all inspections with all compliant and non-compliant actions. Helps to maintain an efficient emergency action plan. Helps to maintain an efficient filing system for maintenance MSDS. Helps to maintain safety protocols in compliance with NC OSHA. Helps to maintain an efficient inventory control system of general maintenance supplies and tools. Helps to maintain an efficient budget control system. Helps to maintain an efficient filing system for all supplier and contractor contacts including emergency contacts. Helps to maintain an efficient hire and release protocol. Helps to maintain an efficient training schedule for engineering technicians to perform routine preventive maintenance (see Hilton’s Maintenance Muscle video and manual). Helps to maintain an efficient tracking system of work orders. Helps to maintain an efficient communication and logistic protocol for all work to be performed that directly affects other departments. Support staff by helping in technical or labor-intensive projects as well as providing the necessary tools to complete the job. Schedule contractors outside of the scope of preventive maintenance. Certain uniform components (including nametag) are issued by the hotel. Hotel issued items should be worn only during hotel shifts. For safety purposes non-slip shoes are required ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Our hotel’s primary goal is to provide hospitality and exceed guest expectations for levels of service, quality, consistency, and attention to detail – all team members are evaluated against this standard. A hotel operates 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. During your scheduled shift, you may be asked to assist in areas of the hotel outside of your typical work areas.
