About The Position

The Athletic Custodian/Grounds position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in assigned campus facilities while also managing grounds maintenance. This role involves a variety of tasks including custodial duties, minor repairs, and support for athletic events. The position requires physical strength and the ability to operate small engine equipment. The custodian will work closely with the Custodial/Maintenance Supervisor and is expected to uphold the safety policies of the district while providing excellent customer service to all stakeholders.

Requirements

• Physically able to lift 20 - 150 pounds.
• Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate with district employees.
• Able to operate small engine equipment such as a weed eater, blower, and mower.

Nice To Haves

• Willingness to learn and be trained in other aspects of the job such as irrigation maintenance and pest control.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties as described in the custodian's job description.
• Assist in maintaining an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and request additional supplies as needed.
• Make minor building repairs as needed.
• Move furniture or equipment within the building.
• Set up for athletic and special events.
• Assist with opening and closing the building each day.
• Maintain athletic grounds by weed eating, blowing, edging, and mowing.
• Assist in the setup of athletic events such as lining fields.
• Demonstrate punctuality and dependability.
• Work and cooperate with fellow workers.
• Uphold and adhere to safety rules and policies of the FISD safety program.
• Support the goals and objectives of the school district and follow all district policies.
• Attend work on a regular and routine basis to avoid disruption to district operations.
• Perform any/all other duties as assigned.
• Provide optimal customer service to all students, employees, parents, community members, and any other stakeholders of the district.
• May be required to work irregular hours.
