The primary purpose of your job position is to maintain the grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner. You will ensure that a successful maintenance program is maintained at all times in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, as well as our established policies and procedures. Requirements

  • Education: Minimum of a 10th-grade education.
  • Skills: Ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting tactfully with residents, families, and staff.
  • Basic mathematical skills (fractions, percentages, ratios) for practical applications.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret written or oral instructions.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods; ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; must be able to assist in resident evacuation during emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Facility Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs including plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical tasks.
  • Grounds Upkeep: Maintain parking areas and driveways by cutting, trimming, sweeping, and policing the grounds as directed.
  • Equipment Care: Service heating and cooling units according to manufacturer specifications; report malfunctions or breakdowns immediately.
  • Safety & Compliance: Follow all established safety precautions and maintenance schedules; ensure equipment is cleaned and stored properly.
  • Resident Care: Maintain resident confidentiality (HIPAA); coordinate maintenance tasks with nursing services to minimize disruption; inform residents before moving personal possessions.
  • General Tasks: Replace light bulbs, clean windows/screens, replenish supplies, and assist with heavy lifting as requested.
