Position Purpose The Maintenance Assistant will be responsible for general maintenance and repair of facilities, building mechanical systems, machinery and equipment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
2+ years of experience.
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and lift or move heavy equipment.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other manuals and documents.
Ability to work in a team and follow instructions from supervisors.
May be required to work outside of normal work hours.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems (including relevant equipment and tools) is a plus.

Responsibilities

Assists in performing scheduled and "as needed" inspection and preventive maintenance on tools and equipment to maintain operability of the tools and equipment.
Perform routine building/facility maintenance duties, including painting, snow removal and minor repairs (ex. switching lightbulbs and unclogging toilets).
Execute office furniture moves, including installation/removal of cabinets.
Maintain interior of the building, as well as machinery and equipment, and exterior of the building (as needed).
Operate a shop sweeper and forklift.
Complete administrative duties, such as filling out forms and reporting maintenance statuses to supervisor.
Keep inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, and report needs to supervisor.
Ability to communicate orally with team members, co-workers, employees, contractors and vendors to obtain and provide useful information.
Work in various adverse conditions such as tight or enclosed spaces, heights, and temperature extremes, indoors or outdoors to complete work assignments.
Respond to emergency calls for maintenance and repairs.
Diagnose and troubleshoot small electrical or plumbing repairs.
Other duties as assigned.
