The Maintenance Assistant, under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Director, is responsible for overseeing the Community safety program and maintaining a secure resident home and working environment in compliance with policy and regulations. This role involves sustaining a preventative maintenance program to ensure the proper functioning of all Community equipment, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. The assistant will complete all maintenance requests, both scheduled and emergency, quickly and efficiently. Key tasks include mechanically repairing, replacing, and/or installing minor equipment, hardware, and controls, with the scope of work cleared by the Executive Director. The position also requires maintaining water heaters, furnaces, air conditioners, kitchen equipment, and associated systems, performing exterior maintenance duties, and conducting fire and disaster drill activities with residents and team members. A crucial aspect of this role is engaging with residents in a compassionate and impactful manner, fostering a warm and supportive environment that reflects values of love, compassion, and dignity in every interaction.
