About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Assistant supports the Maintenance Supervisor in preserving the physical appearance and functionality of all bank-owned properties and equipment. This role involves performing routine maintenance tasks, addressing urgent repair needs, and ensuring the overall upkeep of the bank's facilities. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: Aid in the implementation of a regular schedule of routine maintenance activities to reduce the risk of equipment failure. Perform general maintenance and repairs using basic skills in mechanics, electricity, plumbing, and carpentry. Conduct thorough visual inspections of all bank properties during each visit. Remove debris from sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and landscaped areas as needed. Assist with routine custodial work, carpet and floor cleaning, painting, window cleaning and repair, light bulb replacement, lawn and landscape maintenance, and snow removal from walkways. Move or assist in the movement of furniture and equipment as needed at all facilities. Monitor conditions at all facilities during severe weather or other emergencies. Assist in taking appropriate measures to quickly secure properties and assets regardless of day or time. Transport supplies and other materials between bank locations as needed. Assist with the secure collection, storage, and destruction of waste paper by contracted services. Maintain a professional relationship with suppliers and contractors. Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in coordinating the solicitation of bids on contract work. Assist with set-up and tear-down of holiday decorations, office equipment, promotional materials, and maintenance equipment as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or as appropriate to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of all bank facilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of maintenance skills in mechanics, electricity, plumbing, and carpentry.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving heavy objects.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to transport materials between locations.
