About The Position

As the Maintenance Assistant, you will be learning and working with Maintenance Technicians when the need arises. During preventative maintenance tasks, you will be working alongside the maintenance technicians with a primary focus on cleaning and inspecting. As your knowledge advances you will be able to assist with spotting underlying problems that could lead to unplanned down time. The technician will work both independently and collaboratively to maintain critical equipment.

Requirements

• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools, and shop or barrel vacuums.
• Capable of working independently or collaboratively with internal teams, vendors, and contractors.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
• Commitment to continuous learning of job-related training annually is encouraged.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification is a plus.
• Must meet physical requirements of the role.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for cleaning plant walls, paint booth cleanliness, shop floor clean up, oven cleanliness inside and out.
• Ability to do heavy cleanup around equipment, wipe down machinery, and dumping dust collector barrels.
• May require painting fixtures and assisting with cleaning during preventative maintenance tasks.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures and maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment.
• This role will require working at height, including scissor lift, ladders, and roof.
• Use of appropriate PPE and operating a forklift as needed.
• Performs physical work, including moving up to 100 lbs., and working in positions requiring sitting, standing, climbing, crouching, or crawling.
