About The Position

This person will perform skilled and semi-skilled grounds maintenance related to County Park operations and County support services providing a clean and safe environment for park visitors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must be 18 years of age due to operation of motorized equipment
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
  • Must have and maintain a valid PA Driver's License with an acceptable driving record in accordance with County policy and submit to driving record background check
  • Ability to follow oral and written instruction
  • Ability to work well with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work well alone or with others
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds to waist height, 50 pounds to shoulder height, and 40 pounds above the head
  • Ability to climb a ladder to a working height of 20 feet
  • Must be able to traverse uneven terrain for long distances
  • Ability to perform strenuous tasks over extended periods of time
  • This position has been identified as having the potential for exposure to Hepatitis B. Access to training and a voluntary vaccination against Hepatitis B is provided.
  • Ability to stoop, bend from the waist and reach overhead frequently, and for extended periods of time
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time while operating equipment
  • Must be willing to work outdoors in all types of weather
  • This position requires wearing a supplied t-shirt with an FM logo during working hours
  • This position requires wearing long pants; shorts are NOT permitted
  • This position requires the use of closed toe and closed back shoes that support the ankle

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working outdoors preferred
  • Experience using basic hand tools preferred

Responsibilities

  • Collect and haul trash and recyclables from grounds as well as public and employee restrooms, pavilions, offices and pool
  • Monitor and pick up road trash in the park
  • Basic janitorial work in public restrooms, pavilions and facilities, including the County pool
  • Ability to comprehend daily facility schedule
  • Operate hand and power tools including leaf blower, weed eater, power washer, etc.
  • Safely operate a pickup truck
  • Ability to follow County and Departmental Policies and Procedures
  • Assist with facility needs as directed
  • Other duties as assigned
