About The Position

The Maintenance Assistant (Hourly) position at the Blaisdell Addiction Treatment Center involves performing a variety of semiskilled maintenance, repair, and related activities. The role requires the ability to operate machine tools, perform routine plumbing and steamfitting repairs, cut, weld, and braze metal materials, and engage in semiskilled carpentry and masonry tasks. Additionally, the Maintenance Assistant will operate and maintain heating and hot water equipment, assist in repairing locks, and perform interior and exterior painting. The position is temporary and per diem, with a workweek of 19 hours, and requires flexibility in scheduling as needed.

Requirements

• Two years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trade worker
• Completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course

Responsibilities

• Operates machine tools

• Assists in repairing and maintaining locks
• Performs semiskilled masonry repairs and installation activities
• Repairs, rebuilds, and assists in installing roofs
• Assists in painting and decorating work by performing interior and exterior painting
• Carries out routine tasks of the electrical trade, including repairing electrical equipment
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
