The Maintenance Assistant-Janitor position is a full-time role located at Three Fountains in Medford, OR. The primary responsibilities include performing routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, and driveways, which involves cutting, trimming, sweeping, and cleaning. The work will encompass plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical tasks. The assistant will also be responsible for replacing bulbs, cleaning windows, and assisting others in lifting heavy equipment and supplies. Additionally, servicing heating and cooling units/systems and coordinating daily maintenance services with nursing services in resident living areas are key aspects of the job. The role requires creating and upholding an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment for residents.

  • Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc.
  • Cut, trim, sweep, and clean outdoor areas.
  • Conduct plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical work.
  • Replace bulbs and clean windows.
  • Assist others in lifting heavy equipment and supplies.
  • Service heating and cooling units/systems.
  • Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services.
  • Ensure that the facility and its equipment are properly maintained for resident comfort and convenience.
  • Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledgeable of maintenance practices, procedures, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Knowledgeable of boilers, compressors, generators, and various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Familiar with maintenance of a building such as a nursing home, apartment complex, or business facility.
  • Able to minimize waste of supplies and misuse of equipment.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
