The maintenance role works in various office and residential facilities to maintain the living and working environments of our clients and employees.

Requirements

  • A knowledge of electrical, plumbing, heating, cooling and carpentry.
  • This may be measured by other jobs held and work required in those jobs and or certificates of training in the above mentioned areas.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a maintenance person.
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, lift, push, pull, and carry items weighing 75 pounds.
  • A minimum of eighteen years of age and possession of a diploma from an accredited High School or the equivalent.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a maintenance person.
  • Proven ability to complete maintenance projects in the past.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a maintenance person in a residential/commercial setting is preferred.
  • Maintenance experience in a residential or other type of setting is preferred.
  • Experience as a maintenance person in a residential/commercial setting is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting issues to determine necessary repairs.
  • Performing general repairs that do not require a specialized technician.
  • General remodeling, maintenance of facility roadways, parking lots and snow removal.
  • Performing routine maintenance on building systems.
  • Caring of grounds and landscapes.
  • Provide safety and maintenance training to additional departments as needed.
  • The development of and continued implementation of a preventive maintenance schedule in the group homes, ISLs, administrative facilities, and other Arc facilities.
  • Minor repair to buildings and equipment with general remodeling work.
  • Performs tasks common to the care of grounds and landscapes such as mowing lawns with riding or push mowers; trimming and edging around trees, shrubs, ground cover, flowers, sidewalks, and buildings; weeding, thinning and cleaning flower beds and other grounds by hand or utilizing proper tools and equipment.
  • Ensure that high standards of safety are developed, met, and maintained at all Arc facilities.
  • Arranges and coordinates the internal safety inspections of residential facilities and the Activity Center. Follows up on deficiencies and recommendations.
  • Participates in the process and function of The Arc of the Ozarks Health and Safety Committee.
  • Completes, coordinates, and arranges for the completion of corrective and preventive maintenance in accordance with Arc of the Ozarks operating procedures, practices, and financial considerations.
  • Ensures that major equipment and furnishings are maintained in safe, operable conditions and/or arranges for replacement.
