Requirements

• 3 + years of demonstrated supervisory experience in a heavy industrial or mining environment.
• Strong knowledge of rental and permanent equipment, including vehicle utilization in an operational setting.
• Experience coordinating across multiple facilities and functions.
• Demonstrated success with collaboration and influence.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of asset maintenance needs, including planning/scheduling, tracking, and reliability improvements
• Strong SAP and Microsoft Office skills preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversee the management of rotable / repairable equipment
• Provide leadership and direction to the Plant Maintenance team including the accountability for growth and development of talent within the organization
• Manage Rentals for all sites
• Manage the mobile equipment rentals for the surface locations
• Approve or deny rentals based on applicable need
• Collaborate with business units and internal customers to ensure the most efficient usage of rental equipment is occurring.
• If rentals are approved, monitor the usage and manage timely returns
• Oversee the repairs and reliability of mobile equipment
• Ensure uptime and preventative maintenance improvements
• Lead mobile equipment repair turn-around time improvements
• Develop and manage the 5-year capital plan for mobile equipment
• Develop a cycle strategy to balance vehicle purchase cost to maintenance cost ratio
• Determine an estimated life span of vehicles in the fleet
• Develop and manage the 5-year capital plan for Maintenance Site Services
• Develop and manage Surface Maintenance training
• Ensure adequate resourcing for plant needs through the Farmer and Work Release processes
• Provide coverage and support as needed across the business
• Collaborate cross functionally with various departments, including but not limited to Procurement, Accounting, Maintenance, Operations, and Capital.
• Ensure equipment is registered with the county and appropriately tagged when applicable
• Purchase new equipment
• Obtain discounts for unit pricing
• Facilitate warranty contracts
• Obtain parts and Service discounts
• Ensure requests for mobile equipment are necessary and fiscally responsible.
• Ensure the requested mobile equipment aligns with the company’s mobile vehicle strategy
• Ensure all new mobile equipment is added to the asset ledger
• Ensure old equipment is retired appropriately and removed from the asset ledger
• Ensure the maintenance department can properly maintain new equipment

• Assist in the setup of training for the maintenance department for specific equipment needs
• Identify training needs for Surface Maintenance and ensure all trainings are scheduled and executed effectively.
• Oversee management of Surface Maintenance training plan
