In this role you will lead all activities of the assigned team, including safety, quality, fulfillment, cost, and inventory. We’re looking for a person responsible for measuring all critical business aspects related to the assigned team while also partnering to lead and manage the workflow of the equipment maintenance team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical degree within the basic trades (maintenance of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and/or electrical systems) and four years of related experience; or, minimum eight years’ related experience in basic trades/manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes (e.g. machining, paint, and/or weld technologies).
  • Effectively communicate information to plant leadership.
  • Demonstrated understanding of performance metrics including, but not limited to, safety, quality, fulfillment, cost and inventory.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments to meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience leading a team and providing positive internal Vermeer customer service preferred.
  • Continuous improvement experience preferred. Understanding of lean principles.

Responsibilities

  • Manage team members’ daily activities and train team members to support departmental needs. Effectively communicate across shifts to support customer needs and/or to guide team members.
  • Encourage team member development and engagement. Create an environment for team members to learn and grow.
  • Drive root cause problem solving to address vendor, supplier and customer issues concerning quality and delivery.
  • Lead the development and implementation of lean principles and continuous improvement projects to improve cost, quality, and safety standards for assigned area.
  • Ensure safety and accountability of team members in assigned area. Ensure execution of countermeasures to meet Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) standards.
  • Manage required documentation to meet Vermeer internal and external regulations.
  • Continuously develop and manage preventative maintenance (PM) process to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of PM work.
  • Communicate any financial needs for budgetary purposes.
