About The Position

The Maintenance Apprentice (Mechanical) position is a full-time training role designed for individuals to learn the installation, repair, and maintenance of industrial mechanical equipment. This entry-level position provides hands-on experience and knowledge that can lead to advancement opportunities within the organization, specifically towards a Plant Maintenance Mechanic role. The apprentice will work under immediate supervision and will be exposed to various mechanical tasks and safety protocols in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of a vocational training program in industrial maintenance, building maintenance, HVAC, welding technology, industrial machining, or manufacturing technologies.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Mechanical knowledge and aptitude.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.

• General mechanical experience.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Learn to install functional and structural parts in machinery and mechanical devices.
• Use hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools to dismantle, remove, and replace defective parts.
• Inspect, make adjustments, and perform preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment, including industrial pumps, motors, and valves.
• Perform inspections on used parts using measurement instruments.
• Access plant equipment or facilities via ladders, stairs, motorized lifts, and confined spaces.
• Follow safety precautions and support safety awareness.
• Utilize computer software to complete work orders and job-related documentation.
• Access and utilize the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system.
• Clean work area after job completion and lubricate parts and equipment.
• Cut, weld, bend, and/or straighten metal parts as needed.
• Drive motor vehicle to and from job sites and other work-related locations.
