About The Position

The Maintenance Apprentice position at Campbell Soup Company is designed for individuals looking to develop their skills in maintenance and repair within a manufacturing environment. This role involves completing required electrical and mechanical training while working closely with experienced mechanics to gain hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing plant equipment. The apprentice will learn to interpret technical manuals, operate various tools and machinery, and adhere to safety protocols, ultimately progressing to an Apprentice Mechanic role.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
• Forklift Operator Certification required.
• Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office and SAP.
• Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
• Ability to use hand and power tools correctly and safely.
• Ability to interpret ladder logic and basic control circuits.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with electrical wiring and programmable logic controllers.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Complete required EEAS classes at Joliet Junior College.
• Work closely with shop mechanics to gain plant-specific skill sets.
• Perform facility and plant equipment repairs.
• Conduct daily inspections and root cause investigations of failures.
• Interpret shop manuals and schematic drawings for maintenance tasks.
• Operate shop equipment such as welders, lathes, grinders, and mills safely and accurately.
• Submit daily document reports and answer breakdown repair calls.
• Communicate accurately with co-workers and team members from other departments.
