The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As a Maintenance and Reliability Mechanical Engineer –you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: SME for critical mechanical infrastructure at 3M Center Create specifications for purchasing mechanical utility system equipment Model energy consumption of mechanical systems Support Plant Engineering as they develop and manage project timelines and budgets Successfully interact with multiple discipline teams including 3M Center operations, consultants, suppliers, and vendors Communicate effectively to project team, facility staff and project owners Troubleshoot steam, compressed air, water and chilled water issues in new and existing systems Insure application of applicable codes, standards, and internal guidelines

Requirements

  • Associates Degree (completed and verified prior to start) and four (4) years of experience in Plant Engineering, Manufacturing Operations or Utility Plant Operations in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Or Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) and two (2) years of experience in Plant Engineering, Manufacturing Operations or Utility Plant Operations in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university
  • Two (2) years of experience with water treatment, and/or steam distribution systems.
  • Experience in utility distribution with compressed air, water and/or chilled water
  • Be proficient in use of project management skills for developing timelines, budgets, and coordination of activities
  • Be proficient creating Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Word documents
  • Be proficient at using electronic tools for design, documentation, and communication
  • Function as a team player with the ability to contribute in a matrix environment
