About The Position

The Maintenance & Reliability Manager is responsible for leading the facility’s maintenance and reliability strategy to ensure maximum equipment uptime, asset longevity, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. This role provides strategic and hands-on leadership in preventive and predictive maintenance, reliability engineering, facilities management, and safety programs. The position drives continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing downtime, improving OEE, strengthening asset management systems, and fostering a proactive reliability-centered culture across the organization.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of hands on industrial maintenance experience in a CNC manufacturing environment required.
  • Ability to set work expectations and hold the team accountable.
  • Prior preventative and predictive maintenance experience.
  • Advanced working knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLC)/automation, industrial hydraulics, pneumatics, plant maintenance systems and troubleshooting required.
  • Advanced technical skills in machinery maintenance and repair; advanced problem solving skills.
  • Prior grounds and building maintenance experience.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Prior experience working with contractors.
  • Forklift and Aerial lift experience.
  • Knowledge of CNC equipment and tooling.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to maintain a sense of urgency, handle stressful situations, multitask and ability to prioritize work.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively, professionally and constructively.
  • Must be available for after-hours phone calls or emergency maintenance situations.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards and industry best practices.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Requires repetitive movement.
  • Requires bending and twisting.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience supervising a maintenance department in a CNC machine shop preferred.
  • Experience is ISO/FDA environment preferred.
  • Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OSHA 30-Hour, or Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) are preferred.
  • Technical School degree or formal training in mechanical disciplines preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive reliability strategy focused on preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs.
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for equipment, machinery, and facilities to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) efforts for equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and reduce Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).
  • Supervise and develop maintenance technicians, assign work orders, and ensure timely completion in alignment with production schedules and quality standards. Be hands on performing maintenance and facilities functions when necessary.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and vendor contracts for CNC machine repairs, calibration services, and critical supplies.
  • Utilize and continuously improve CMMS (MaintainX) to track asset history, PM compliance, KPIs, and reliability metrics.
  • Establish and monitor maintenance KPIs including uptime, OEE, PM completion rates, backlog, and maintenance costs.
  • Coordinate with engineering, quality, and production departments to align reliability initiatives with operational goals with minimal disruption to operations.
  • Lead installation, validation, and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring documentation and calibration are completed.
  • Conduct routine inspections and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and improve process efficiency.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities for audits, including calibration logs, service reports, and equipment validations.
  • Champion a reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) culture throughout the organization.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of the facility’s infrastructure, including HVAC, compressed air systems, electrical distribution, lighting, and plumbing.
  • Ensure clean, safe, and compliant working environments in all production, warehouse, office, and support areas.
  • Manage building maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs in coordination with internal teams and outside contractors.
  • Coordinate janitorial, waste management, pest control, and groundskeeping services to maintain facility cleanliness and appearance.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, fire safety, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain facility documentation, including floor plans, maintenance logs, inspection records, and contractor agreements.
  • Plan and oversee facility improvements, space utilization projects, and equipment relocations in alignment with operational needs.
  • All other duties ass assigned.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Oversee hazardous materials handling and DOT/HAZWOPER compliance
  • Overseeing fire and life safety system inspections
  • Coordinating directly with the City of Naples and Naples Fire Department
  • Supporting employee PPE enforcement, equipment certifications (forklift, aerial lift), and safety signage updates
  • Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
  • Lead safety training programs for employees, including topics such as hazard communication, emergency response, and equipment operation safety.
  • Investigate workplace incidents or accidents, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain safety documentation, including SDS (Safety Data Sheets), incident reports, and compliance records.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies during inspections or audits.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations for shipping, receiving, and transporting hazardous materials
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including SDS, Bills of Lading, labels, and placards
  • Oversee proper storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous chemicals per EPA and OSHA standards
  • Coordinate hazardous waste pickups and maintain manifests and disposal records
  • Conduct routine inspections of chemical storage and ensure secondary containment compliance
  • Keep current with regulatory updates and ensure facility registrations and reporting are accurate
  • Maintain and manage spill response kits and emergency preparedness equipment
