Job Summary: Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Maintenance & Reliability Department at the Silver Springs manufacturing facility. Plans, directs and controls all aspects of plant maintenance and reliability, developing and leading initiatives focused on a reliability-based culture. Accountable for equipment maintenance, building and grounds maintenance, leading the maintenance excellence work process (MEWP), craftsmen apprenticeship program, site security and working cooperatively with other departments to achieve reliability goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Possesses knowledge of technical information.
  • Demonstrates background knowledge of operating procedure and process.
  • Understands maintenance procedures and processes.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of CMMS.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of overtime procedure.
  • Understands, in detail, the plant maintenance planning and scheduling process.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience operating in a maintenance and reliability environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Management (and/or) Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) performance and compliance, promptly addressing the root causes of OIIs or near misses, conducting effective safety meetings, promptly addressing safety concerns raised by employees, leading by example and Accountable for Ensuring Compliance with all QC Requirements (GMP, FSP) and providing leadership to drive continuous improvements in product quality. As FSP Team Member shall ensure duties or work instructions are in place and communicated to all staff involved with the plant’s HACCP program and how it applies to product safety, legality, and quality.
  • Accountable for leading and managing staff development including assigning and monitoring personal Goal Objectives for supervisors, planners, schedulers, reliability engineer and technicians
  • Accountable for leading and managing the craftsmen apprenticeship program
  • Accountable for Maintenance Costs
  • Ensures that department is using standard business processes, Management Control and Reporting System and Maintenance Excellence Work Practices.
  • Accountable for working with other departments to meet plant goals and commitments including equipment uptime and OEE
  • Accountable for building & ground maintenance

  • Accountable for managing labor efficiency
  • Accountable for Equipment Specification & Standardization and Procedure Development/Documentation

  • Accountable for RCA & CAPA follow-up for equipment breakdowns
  • Accountable for developing and implementation of the Reliability Strategy
  • Accountable for managing the maintenance shop, equipment & tools and maintenance mobile equipment
  • Accountable for managing the site security contractor
  • Implements critical care plans (PMs, Predictive Maintenance, critical equipment).
  • Creates and participates in reliability improvement initiatives providing guidance to the Maintenance personnel.
  • Ensures effective equipment troubleshooting, including root causes identification and action plan implementation.
  • Manages maintenance project portfolio.
  • Reviews Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Reports and explains budget variances.
  • Performs recruiting and staffing activities, as needed.
  • Facilitates performance management and employee development.
  • Completes compliance requirements, including compliance matrix, and other training for position, as required.
  • Performs other related duties, as required.
  • Manages employee and labor relations matters in conjunction with Human Resources, as appropriate.
  • Ensures systems and processes are in place to maintain smooth operations during employee absences and staffing changes.
  • Ensures department goals are aligned with plant business imperatives.
  • Ensures performance goals are met.
  • Establishes and ensures achievement of all unit Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensures adherence to standard work processes, including Management Control and Reporting System.
  • Ensures compliance with corporate standards (e.g., financial, code of business conduct) and adherence to company policies.
