About The Position

The Maintenance and Operations Manager at Vail Butler plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of our luxury vacation rental properties. This individual will oversee daily operations, coordinate teams, maintain high-quality property standards, and optimize guest experiences. The role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in property management or hospitality operations
  • 5+ years in maintenance, handiwork, HVAC, or related fields
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, etc.)
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • College degree preferred
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic property operations and maintenance plan aligned with Vail Butler's long-term growth and quality objectives.
  • Oversee all maintenance, repair, and operational activities across the property portfolio, ensuring exceptional standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation.
  • Lead and develop the operations team—including Property Managers and Home Specialists—through hands-on support, training, and performance coaching.
  • Drive the growth of the maintenance division by identifying revenue opportunities, optimizing service offerings, and improving operational profitability.
  • Manage daily operations with a strong focus on workflow efficiency, cost control, and service consistency.
  • Coordinate and oversee maintenance projects and renovations, ensuring timely, high-quality, and budget-conscious execution.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to proactively identify issues, maintain quality standards, and reduce long-term maintenance costs.
  • Track key performance metrics and generate operational reports to inform strategic decision-making and leadership updates.
  • Cultivate and manage vendor and contractor relationships to ensure timely service delivery, contract compliance, and competitive pricing.
  • Establish clear communication channels with homeowners, providing updates and oversight for all maintenance work specific to their properties.
