Location: Union City, Greater Bay Area Maintenance and Facilities Training Manager Under the supervision of the Director of Capital Projects and Facilities, the Maintenance and Facilities Training Manager designs, coordinates, and oversees training programs that enhance the technical skills, safety practices, and operational effectiveness of Maintenance and Facilities staff.

Requirements

  • Experience in construction management, property management, maintenance operations, or a closely related field.
  • Experience identifying training needs and designing or facilitating technical training programs.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal partners and external vendors.
  • Ability to design and develop training materials, SOPs, and competency frameworks.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills for coordinating multi‑site training events.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills for technical and safety training.
  • Strong judgment, analytical thinking, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Effective interpersonal communication and report‑writing skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and required auto insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Identify training needs through skills gap analysis and collaboration with supervisors to assess department competency requirements.
  • Conduct site visits to observe operational practices, safety compliance, and equipment usage, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Analyze work order trends, repair histories, and maintenance data to uncover recurring issues and training opportunities.
  • Research, evaluate, and select qualified vendors to deliver specialized technical training.
  • Develop and implement internal credentialing programs for Maintenance and Facilities staff.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for training initiatives and manage vendor relationships.
  • Plan and coordinate training events, including scheduling, logistics, locations, materials, and refreshments.
  • Partner with Property Management leadership to align training with operational needs and performance goals.
  • Collaborate with the Talent Development team to integrate broader developmental training opportunities.
  • Measure post‑training effectiveness, maintain accurate records, and ensure programs remain current with safety, regulatory, and industry standards.
