Summary The Maintenance & Commissioning Technician will support the commissioning of Ultrapure water (UPW) systems at construction sites and the maintenance service of the system after the commissioning phase. Reporting Relationships The Maintenance & Commissioning Technician reports to the Commissioning & Maintenance Manager.

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in operating or commissioning fluid handling systems for industrial facilities such as water treatment plants, chemical plants, beverage plants, oil refineries or semiconductor fabs.
  • High School diploma
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to ascend and descend 30 ft cage ladder.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with water treatment engineering processes, a plus.

Responsibilities

  • To understand the commissioning procedures and schedule of the UPW Plant.
  • Prepare the tools and equipment necessary for commissioning activities.
  • Check the consistency with the design drawings and control drawings based on the specifications, guaranteed values, etc.
  • Check the positioning of the system components like tanks, piping, valves, pumps, instruments, etc. are installed according to the design drawings.
  • Follow through with duties laid out by commissioning manager including inspections, calibrations, repairs, troubleshooting and any other tasks that affect UPW performance.
  • Report any non-conformity or abnormal operation of the UPW system.
  • During the commissioning period, to learn skills & techniques necessary for the maintenance of the UPW systems.
  • During commissioning (typical duration 4 months), expect 10-12 hours days, 6 days per week, and potential night shift.
  • Responsible for the inspection, maintenance and troubleshooting of the UPW systems at customer facilities (possibly out of state)
  • Perform scheduled maintenance work to maintain UPW quality, may include instrument calibrations, cleaning, valve checks, equipment repair and replacement.
  • Confirm system operation within specification after maintenance work if performed.
  • Report any non-conformity or abnormal operation of the UPW system.
  • Abide strictly to the company and clients’ safety standards.
