About The Position

Performs routine unskilled and limited semi-skilled manual work in general maintenance of the combined facilities of Alivio Medical Center. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements

No minimum standard for education. Incumbent must demonstrate literacy and math skills as required to read and understand work instructions, materials safety data sheets, and OSHA related documentation.
Incumbent may be required to hold a valid Illinois driver’s license.
Two (2) yrs. experience in plumbing, electrical and general maintenance required to assist with building repair functions.
Ability to read and follow instructions and utilize good judgment in recognizing and mitigating potentially hazardous situations.

Responsibilities

Performs prescribed cleaning routines of assigned facilities according to daily, weekly, monthly or other regularly scheduled time period
Empties garbage cans
Changes light bulbs
Monitors the public spaces within the building during regular clinical hours and responds to maintenance needs including, but not limited to: pick up, cleaning of bathrooms, waiting areas and hallways
Responds to immediate clean up or maintenance needs identified by staff
Identifies and addresses any observed safety hazards (slip, trip or fall hazards as well as electrical
Washes, cleans, and properly stores tools and equipment at the end of shift
Reports concerns about public and private waste pickup services
Performs daily or seasonal grounds maintenance including street/sidewalk, walkway sweeping, gutter/drain and alley clearing, pick up of trash, snow removal or de-icing
Reports graffiti and/or cleans off building
Opens or closes facility as assigned per shift
Opens or locks offices as required by authorized staff
Assists Facility Manger with maintenance related projects, etc.
Performs other maintenance duties as assigned by supervisor
This position requires compliance with all of Alivio’s written standards, including its Standards of Conduct, Joint Commission standards, all policies and procedures and Corporate Compliance requirements. Compliance will be considered as part of the regular performance evaluation.
