Howmet Aerospace’s Wichita Falls, TX facility has an opening for Maintenance A Mechanic. Must be able to work a rotating shift. This opening will be on A or C shift. (7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.) (The schedule is 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off....) All offers are contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screen. JOB SUMMARY: Frequently works independently under minimal supervision to perform extremely complex tasks including the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of plant equipment and building. Maintenance ‘A’ Mechanics may not move for two (2) years unless movement is a promotion within the department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Must be able to read, write, and comprehend written and verbal instructions, and should be able to comprehend simple to very detailed schematics, blueprints, diagrams, and the ability to setup and operate more complex equipment. Must be able to troubleshoot problems and make repairs in the areas of his specialties either from experience or with the aid of manuals, wiring diagrams, etc. Perform basic shop math, including fractions and/or decimals. Qualifying proficiency in one or more specialized fields with a strong mechanical background and a working knowledge of the others. Employee may be required to perform operations in any of these fields depending on the work requirements at that time. Must often use independent judgment to diagnose equipment problems and analyze best method for desired results. Must have a high degree of manual dexterity and be mechanically inclined. Maintain equipment in plant Must be able to maintain expected quality levels.
