The Maintenance Trades Specialist II - HVAC position at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center involves conducting preventive maintenance tasks and repairs on basic facility systems, documenting tasks through a computerized maintenance system, and assisting in evaluating and troubleshooting basic building system failures. The role requires operating and monitoring basic Utility System Infrastructure, maintaining fire alarm and fire protection systems, and supporting the installation of building hardware and electrical devices under supervision. The position is full-time, with a schedule of Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, including rotating weekends, on-call, and holiday duties.

  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks and repairs on basic facility systems.
  • Document tasks through the computerized maintenance system.
  • Assist in evaluating and troubleshooting basic building system failures.
  • Operate and monitor basic Utility System Infrastructure.
  • Maintain fire alarm and fire protection systems.
  • Support the installation of building hardware, electrical devices, and wall finishes under supervision.
  • Maintain preventive maintenance records and equipment repair files for compliance.
  • Read blueprints, Life Safety drawings, and maintenance manuals.
  • Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of technical training.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of experience in relatable industrial/trades maintenance or operations.
  • Intermediate level computer skills in using systems such as CMMS, Microsoft Office, Building Automation Systems.
  • Good communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal oversight with intermediate level technical skills in facility maintenance.
  • Recognized community college/tech school trade certificate experience or completion of a recognized community college program.
  • Trade/Tech School Trades Certificate or trades or industry recognized certification/license requiring Continuing Education Units or periodic renewal to maintain.
  • 2+ years of experience in relatable industrial/trades maintenance or operations.
