About The Position

A Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping the facility operating and completing necessary repairs. To be successful, a maintenance technician must have the ability to develop relationships and possess great interpersonal communications with other departments. This individual should be extremely organized and be able to simultaneously work on multiple tasks. This individual should be able to work independently and have the ability to troubleshoot issues with general equipment, machines, and overall facilities.

Requirements

• Entry level position.
• Ability to read and write.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Requires intermittent walking, sitting, and standing. Some bending, stooping, and reaching is required;
• Must have sufficient visual acuity (with correction) to read equipment controls, computer terminals, printed materials, and operate other equipment;
• Must have hearing acuity to hear spoken communications from the general public or co-workers;
• Must be able to communicate orally and in writing in English;
• Must be able to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
• Must be able to climb ladders and adhere to ladder safety.
• OSHA 10 Training required within 6 months of hire
• Valid Texas Drivers' License

Nice To Haves

• Prior maintenance experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Consistently operates department within hospital policy and procedures.
• Organizes time and sets priorities to accomplish workload.
• Completes reports and records as required and/or requested by upper management.
• Maintains an organized and clean work area to ensure general safety.
• Participates in educational experiences designed to maintain competence.
• Annually completes all required in-service and training: Infection Control, Safety – Electrical, Fire, Back, Blood Borne Pathogens, TB, Workplace Violence Guidelines, Emergency Evacuation, Hazardous Communications, Shock Advisory, Restraint, Abuse, HIPAA
