About The Position
The Transit Technician - C position involves performing first line troubleshooting, train coordination, preventive and corrective maintenance on vehicles and wayside equipment. This includes working on propulsion, traction motors, brakes, air compressors, couplers, doors, HVAC, auxiliary power, and other related electromechanical components. The technician will operate under the direction of supervisors, engineers, or staff members. Responsibilities also include making recommendations for hardware and procedural changes, reviewing project requests and safety instructions, operating revenue service vehicles, handling emergencies, participating in training, performing quality tests, and maintaining accurate records of activities. The technician must follow all security and safety instructions to ensure a safe fleet for reliable commuter service.
