About The Position
The Transit Technician - C position involves performing first line troubleshooting, train coordination, preventive and corrective maintenance on vehicles and wayside equipment. This includes working on propulsion, traction motors, brakes, air compressors, couplers, doors, HVAC, auxiliary power, and other related electromechanical components. The technician will operate under the direction of supervisors, engineers, or staff members, and will be responsible for making recommendations for hardware and procedural changes based on maintenance performance. The role requires reviewing project requests, safety instructions, blueprints, and schematics to ascertain test specifications and procedures. The technician will also operate revenue service vehicles, handle emergencies, participate in training, perform quality tests, and maintain accurate records of activities. Adherence to safety instructions and procedures is crucial to prevent personal injuries and ensure a reliable commuter service.
