We are seeking a reliable and experienced Instrument and Electrical (I&E) Technician to join our manufacturing facility. This role is vital in maintaining and optimizing the plant’s instrumentation and electrical systems to ensure continuous, efficient, and safe production. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of electrical equipment and control systems to minimize downtime and support production goals. In this role you'll make an impact by: Install, calibrate, and maintain process control instruments (temperature, pressure, flow, level, etc.). Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical equipment including motors, starters, control panels, transformers, lighting, and power distribution systems up to [480V/600V]. Analyze and resolve issues with PLCs, VFDs, and other automated control systems to restore operations quickly. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on instrumentation and electrical equipment to prevent unexpected failures. Assist with electrical and instrumentation upgrades, system installations, and plant shutdowns. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and technical manuals to effectively troubleshoot and repair. Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and calibrations. Ensure all work complies with company safety policies and regulatory standards (NEC, NFPA, OSHA).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate’s degree or trade certification in Industrial Electrical, Instrumentation, or Automation preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience troubleshooting and maintaining electrical systems in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proficient with diagnostic tools and software for PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) and electrical testing equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control diagrams, and P&IDs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and teamwork.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed Electrician or ISA Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) (preferred)
  • Experience with SCADA, HMI systems, or industrial networks (preferred)
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles (preferred)
