The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining both mechanical and electrical production-related equipment; and performing preventative maintenance as scheduled to minimize and eliminate unplanned machine down time. MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (not all inclusive) · Ensure correct and safe operation of equipment and machinery, being able to utilize a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). · Troubleshoot and maintain mechanical drive systems, conveyors, Forge Presses, Trim Presses, CNC machinery, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, process water systems and other equipment as assigned. · Identify faulty equipment through observation and testing. · Gather parts and perform repairs. · Work with Maintenance Manager to continually update the maintenance process (es) and system(s). · Attend daily shift meetings to prioritize work orders and minimize downtime. · Safely operate cranes, power tools, hoists and hand tools. · Assess the condition of used, worn, faulty parts using micrometers, calipers and specifications. · Maintain parts and tools inventory through parts consumption via work orders. · Enter job/work information into CMMS on a routine basis · Have a general understanding of electrical systems including 480VAC 3Ø, 120VAC and 24VDC, being able to safely work around these systems as you perform maintenance functions. · Maintain electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical knowledge via on-going training, industry workshops and technical reading. · Able to adhere to safety and performance standards.
